- One number on the keypad stops responding. The membrane under that key has worn through. DoorKing keypads have a finite number of presses, and the “1” and “Enter” buttons usually go first because that’s what everyone uses. You can’t clean it back to life.
- Gate opens from the remote but not the keypad. This narrows it to the keypad, its wiring, or the access control input on the board. The operator itself is fine. This is usually a fast swap, not a full system replacement.
- You hear a loud hum from the cabinet, or burning smell. A transformer or capacitor is failing. Kill power at the breaker and call us. That hum is the sound of a component working itself to death, and a burnt connection inside a gate cabinet is a fire hazard.
